HELLESDON HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY CHARTER

What we expect of you and what you can expect of us:
We aim to provide a purposeful learning environment, where everyone can strive towards high standards of personal achievement.

 

What we expect of you:

• To work quietly
• To use computers for homework or research only
• To show respect to all library staff and other students
• Not to eat or drink in the library
• To respect library property
• To have all books and DVDs stamped at the desk before you leave
• To renew or return items on time
• To help us by giving us your comments and suggestions

 

What you can expect of us:

 

• A pleasant and welcoming place to do homework, reading or research
• A relaxed, informal atmosphere
• Access to a wide range of library resources
• Library staff to help locate resources, information and to help with the computers
• Respect from all library staff
• We will listen to your opinions and suggestions

OPENING TIMES

Monday – Thursday: 9am – 4pm
Friday: 9am – 3pm
Homework Club: 7.30-8.30am and 3-4pm

 

In the library we aim to create a friendly, calm area for reading and independent study.

 

The library is fully computerized and is made up of the following resources:

  • 15,450 books
  • 15 networked computers
  • A3 and A4 colour laser printers
  • scanners
  • projector
  • newspapers and magazines
  • DVDs
  • Connexions information point
