GCSE MUSIC
In Years 10 and 11 you can opt to study music in more detail. The Music Department believes that the course should focus on your interests in music and therefore the syllabus could change from year to year, but we guarantee you will enjoy the course and become a better musician.
During the course you will have to perform two pieces of music: a solo and an ensemble piece. You will also have to compose two pieces of music, which is not as hard as it sounds. The last part is the final exam, which covers all the aspects you have studied in Years 10 and 11.
The results at GCSE have been excellent, with the Department gaining 100% A* - C in 2007, 2008 and 90% in 2009.
