Music Clubs

In the Music Department we run lots of different clubs and groups which sometimes play just for fun, but sometimes perform in public and even abroad, which is great fun as well.

Wind Band

If you play a brass, woodwind or percussion instrument you will probably want to join the Wind Band. This is the most successful group in the school and has performed at loads of gigs including the Norfolk Music Festival, trips to Paris in 2008 and Austria in July 2010. So get on board with this lot - it's great fun!

String Ensemble

We have our own string group who perform not only on their own but also with the Wind Band to make an orchestra. The String Ensemble also went to Paris and Austria.

Brass Ensemble

These guys are really good and have performed in public at the Royal Norfolk Show and also at the Norfolk Music Festival.

Rock Club

Animals, this lot! There are three mini-rock bands that meet to thrash it out after school. The main group are amazing and have performed in public on several occasions. The club is open to anyone so get you guitar out and start ‘moshing’, man.

Keyboard Club

This is a new club, run by the keyboard teacher. Everyone gets a chance to play with other pupils so no one feels left out.

Guitar Club

If you play guitar you will love this. It is run by one of our guitar teachers, and you will learn to play the blues and other styles in a group. This is brilliant fun and there will be chances to perform in public. In 2009 members of the guitar club performed at the Royal Norfolk Show.

Theory of Music Club

If you really want to know more about how music works or you are working hard in your instrumental lessons then this is the club for you. It is quite hard work but very rewarding in the end.

Singing Club

In singing club we often just sing along to backing tracks but we also learn to sing in harmony just like the great singers do. We try lots of different kinds of song and since 2007 we have performed a concert with our 3 main feeder schools and we also sang songs from Mama Mia.
