Sixth Form visit to Cambridge

Wednesday 11 July started early for ten Year 12 students, setting off on a visit to King’s College, Cambridge as part of the Gifted and Talented provision in Sixth Form. The aim of the day was to raise aspirations of students in the Sixth Form, and to ensure that our top students are applying to not just Oxbridge, but to all the best universities in the country.

We were met by Kristy Guneratne, Schools Liaison Officer at King’s, and, having been shown around the impressive surroundings of the College and given some of the history, as well as a visit to the world-famous Chapel, students listened to a talk on ‘how Cambridge works’. Also included in the day was information on UCAS and what to put in a Personal Statement to make it stand out. The visit proved both very enjoyable as well as extremely informative for all the students concerned.
