The PTA invites parents and carers to a
Summer BBQ & Race Night at School on Friday 13 July
This will be a fun, glitzy evening (for adults only, not a family event). We would like to invite you to buy tickets and to buy ownership of a racehorse, who will run for one of the amazing prizes on offer.
Tickets are £5 each, to include the BBQ (bring your own drinks and cups).
The BBQ will be served from 6.30 – 7pm, ahead of the first race at 7.30pm.
The races will be films of horse races: it’s all based on luck, not skill! The date has been chosen with care.
We invite you to take ownership of one of the eight horses in a race for just £3.
The owner of the winning horse will win the prize for that race. Here are the races and prizes:
Race 1. The Whiffler Pub Sweepstake.
Prize: 2 main meals + 2 drinks at The Whiffler.
Race 2. Signature Hair Salon Handicap Chase.
Prize: a £50 voucher for their salon at 5 Bridewell Alley, Norwich. Tel 764864.
Race 3. The Prosport Hunter Chase.
Prize: £25 voucher to spend in their online shop.
Race 4. The Gift of Words Gold Cup.
Prize: a £25 book token.
Race 5. Scott’s Sheds Handicap Hurdle.
Prize: a case of wine (6 bottles).
Race 6. The Purple Pig Club Stakes.
Prize: a luxury selection from Hotel Chocolat.

Race 7. The Price Bailey Accountants Challenge Race. Prize is a £25 iTunes voucher.
Race 8. Ownership will be an auction on the night – for a cash prize.
Once all 56 horses have been owned and named we will print the programme, which will become your ticket, sent out to you in advance. If you own a business, maybe you would like to help sponsor the evening in return for an advert and publicity in the programme – please e mail the PTA for more info: PTA@hellesdonhigh.norfolk.sch.uk .
There will also be a tote on the night: all bets will be just £1 per horse per race. And even if your horse doesn’t win the race, all losing tickets will go into a draw at the end of the night to win a 12ft easy set swimming pool donated by Newson Pools.
Jockeys will be for sale on the night @ £1 each with even more chances to win prizes.
This promises to be a great evening: we look forward to seeing you there. As there are some very good prizes on offer, for only £3 a pop, we are limiting horse ownership to 1 per person initially.
