Easter sports camps cancelled

Unfortunately, due to insufficient interest and uptake from students, the Basketball in the Community and Premier Sports Easter camps will no longer be running at HHS this Easter.

BITC are however hosting another camp for Years 3-7 at Recreation Road during the holidays, and Premier sport are running a Football camp at Bowthorpe. Details will follow here shortly, and posters will go up on the Extended Schools noticeboard at the bottom of the ‘B’ staircase in school, as well as in Public on the intranet.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Kind regards, Miss Ford, ESC Hellesdon High

PTA update

Many thanks if you supported the PTA by buying a raffle ticket or ice-cream during the performance of the School production of Annie last week.

There were 37 raffle prizes but 6 prizes were unclaimed. They are chocolates, wine, biscuits and a DVD. If you didn’t check your tickets, and wonder if you might be a winner, please e mail the PTA on PTA@hellesdonhigh.norfolk.sch.uk  with your ticket numbers. If you were lucky, we’ll get your prize to you.

The profits we made will go towards the cost of our new shelter, which – we are very excited to say – is being erected in the School grounds during the Easter holidays.  Photos to follow.

This will mean that the students have more places to sit when outside, under shelter from the elements.

We’re sorry if you were looking forward to our wine-tasting evening in May – this has been cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control.  Our next social/fundraising event will be on Friday 13 July at the School and this will be a fun, glitzy race night.  More information to follow.

Youth Club to re-open

From Friday 27 April, the HHS Youth Club will be opening its doors once more.

This fantastic safe haven for young people to meet out of school hours will be operating from the HHS Sixth Form Common Room on a Friday between 18:45 and 20:45. The new and improved service will be run by trained volunteers from the local community, and will cost 50p per person per visit, to be reinvested into the Youth Club funds for future events and facilities.

Each young person wishing to attend must collect a parental consent form from Mrs Skeggs in the School Library and return it signed and completed by his or her parent/carer to the Youth Club.

As places are limited, it is recommend that parents and carers check that their child definitely has a place for the evening when dropping off.
