Activities Week: important info

Please click here for a letter to parents and carers from Miss Ford, containing important information about the arrangements for Activities Week, 11-15 July.

The main points are also outlined below:

We will be following a similar timetable to the normal school day throughout Activities Week.  All pupils are expected to be in school for normal school time (8:30am) and meet with their group leader for registration in the location given to them at their group meeting last Friday. (If your child is unsure of this he/she can ask the group leader or me at school this week, or look on the Activities Week noticeboard in the school cloakrooms.)

Please follow the normal school procedures should your child be absent for a day, calling the absence line before 8:30am so we can let group leaders know if they are going to be missing someone for the day.

Your child will need a packed lunch each day.  A selection of cold lunches will be available for those pupils who are on school site during lunchtime and at breaktimes.  If your child receives free school meals they will be able to collect a packed lunch before registration from the dining room hatches.  Please send a water-based drink with your child. Fizzy drinks are not allowed.

We also ask that if you know your child suffers from travel sickness, please give them a travel sickness remedy, before they leave for school.  We are unable to supervise the taking of medicines for this purpose.

If your child chooses to bring a mobile phone, camera, entertainment system or any other electronic gadget, we cannot be responsible for these items in any way, and they will remain the sole care of your child for the duration of the week.

Please also ensure that your child has suitable protection from the sun and is wearing appropriate clothing for weather conditions and activities he/she is participating in.  This includes provision for bad weather conditions as well.
