Academy status

Following an extraordinary meeting of the Governing Body on Tuesday 21 June 2011, the following two resolutions were passed by a majority of 9 to 2: 

  • to make an application for Hellesdon High School to convert to an Academy.
  • that the Governing Body would consider applying as part of an Academy Chain of local secondary schools, but that if no progress towards this had been made by October 2011, then an application would be submitted by Hellesdon High School to proceed as a stand-alone Academy. 

A letter with more details will be sent home via your children at the end of this week or the beginning of next week.

Vacancy for Art Technician (PT)

REQUIRED FOR SEPTEMBER 2011:
PART-TIME ART TECHNICIAN
25 HOURS PER WEEK (TERM TIME + 1 WEEK)
8AM - 1PM DAILY
SCALE D – GR9039

Previous experience in an art environment or as a technician is desirable, but by no means essential.  Good organisational skills are a must!

At Hellesdon High we have a truly comprehensive intake and take pride in knowing every student and pupil as an individual.   We work hard to maximise the potential of staff and students alike (IIP Award).  The school enjoys a good reputation and is a Specialist Schools Technology College.

As of Monday 13 June, the following places are still available for Activities Week, and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Please ask your child to submit his/her booking form and payment to Miss Ford’s office.  Consent forms for your child’s chosen activity will then be issued. Please ensure these are completed and returned as soon as possible to Miss Ford.

End-of-year party: prize draw

HHS PTA is excited to announce an END OF YEAR PARTY for Years 7, 8 & 9.
Friday 8th July. 7 – 10 pm @ “Open” – Bank Plain, Norwich >>see invitation

Fantastic prize draw

Everybody who buys a ticket to the party will have the chance to win 1 of 6 brilliant prizes:

  • 3 x £15 iTunes vouchers
  •  a day in a recording studio for up to 5 people, producing a CD
  • 2 x  group climbing wall session  – could be taken on a Saturday afternoon for up to 8 people

We have booked exclusive hire of the nightclub with state-of-the-art sound & lighting and plasma screens. Our own bar will serve soft drinks and non-alcoholic cocktails for approx £1 each.

Tickets are £4. Buy them from Becky Moncur (Y8) from the School Council, or in the canteen at lunchtime. Please buy them by Friday 17 June.
