elcome to the Hellesdon Community High School website. I hope that as you explore the site you will find out why we are all so proud of our School, whose "good progress in making improvements" was also recognized in a very positive letter from OFSTED inspectors, following their visit in February 2011.
Hellesdon is a Specialist Technology College and serves the local communities of Hellesdon, Horsford and St Faiths, but we are proud that students attend this School who live in different parts of the city and Norfolk. It is a measure of our success that parents and students are willing to travel considerable distances to experience the ambitious but caring environment of our learning community.
There are numerous theories about what makes a good school, and education has been the object of much research, some good and some simply bizarre. At Hellesdon we try to do the simple things really well. These are: teaching which promotes active and independent learning, appropriate resourcing, promoting self-esteem, caring for others and the world around you, fostering outstanding behaviour to support learning, and never walking past bad practice.
This website aims to reflect these simple but vital ingredients of a successful school.
