Welcome to the Hellesdon High School website. We hope that as you explore the site you will find out why we are all so proud of our school, which was rated Good by Ofsted at the last inspection in November 2012.
Having been a specialist Technology College since 2003 and a Leading Edge Academy from 2012, we have embarked on the next phase of our development as part of the Wensum Trust.
HHS serves the local communities of Hellesdon, Horsford and St Faiths, but we are proud that students attend this school who live in different parts of the city and Norfolk. It is a measure of our success that parents and students are willing to travel considerable distances to experience the ambitious but caring environment of our learning community.
There are numerous theories about what makes a good school, and education has been the object of much research, some good and some simply bizarre. At Hellesdon we try to do the simple things really well. These are: teaching which promotes active and independent learning, appropriate resourcing, promoting self-esteem, caring for others and the world around you, fostering outstanding behaviour to support learning, and never walking past bad practice.
This website aims to reflect these simple but vital ingredients of a successful school.
If, after accessing the wide range of material on this website, you feel you would like to see the real thing or would be interested in this school – either as a student or as the parent/carer of a child – please contact us, and we will be delighted to show you around and answer any questions you might have.
Thank you for taking the time to visit Hellesdon.net
