EXAM SUCCESS

Hellesdon High School has enjoyed record results in recent years.

Our exam results in June 2016 ranked the Sixth Form in the top 25% nationally. The progress made by our GCSE students was also exceptional.

Welcome to Hellesdon High School

Welcome to Hellesdon High School, a popular and successful school serving the north-west fringe of Norwich. Currently we have 1,380 students on roll, including 150 in the Sixth Form.

HHS, a Leading Edge Academy since 2012, is proud to be a partner of The Wensum Trust family of schools.

We have recently become an International School, and hold the current world record for the number of people playing ‘Happy’ simultaneously on kazoos.

At Hellesdon, we take pride in knowing every child as an individual. Pastoral care is organized through Heads of Year, Tutors and Mentors, with all our staff playing a part. The school has a friendly atmosphere and a well-publicized anti-bullying policy.

The School enjoys the active support of the PTA and all of our parents and carers, who have access to the latest information about their children’s progress through the Learning Gateway (login required).

Our excellent kitchen was given a five-star rating at its latest inspection. DinerMite serves up an inspiring selection of nourishing food every day. Click here for the current menu (pdf) and here for the DinerMite price list (pdf). For information on food allergies and intolerances, please see the display board in the dining hall, and see Mr Bush, Catering Manager, for any further information required.

The school was inspected and re-certified in summer 2014, and the Green Flag flutters proudly from the HHS flagpole once again, showing that we have met the ECO Schools criteria for an environmentally conscious community.

Hellesdon High is a lively school with active links with the local community and our feeder primary schools. We have a dynamic PTA which puts on popular social and fundraising activities including quiz nights, indoor car boot sales and many more.

The school’s facilities are used by various community groups for sports and other activities outside the school day.

We offer a huge range of sporting activities to all students, including training in leadership skills, opportunities to take part in local leagues and competitions with other schools, and to enjoy extracurricular clubs and activities. Our students campaigned to save School Sports Partnerships, which they felt had helped young people in our area to get into and benefit from sport.
