We are a well established centre offering a wide range of Advanced Level and Btec courses and excellent individual care and guidance, as we support every student to realise her or his full potential.

Hellesdon High School has enjoyed record GCSE and A-Level results in recent years.

Our exam results in June 2015 were the best ever for progress at GCSE and A-Level.

Welcome to Hellesdon High School

Welcome to Hellesdon High School, a popular and successful school serving the north-west fringe of Norwich. Currently we have 1,300 students on roll, and 200 in the Sixth Form. HHS has been a Leading Edge Academy since 2012, and holds the current world record for the number of people playing ‘Happy’ simultaneously on kazoos.

At Hellesdon, we take pride in knowing every child as an individual. Pastoral care is organized through Heads of Year, Tutors and Mentors, with all our staff playing a part. The school has a friendly atmosphere and a well-publicized anti-bullying policy.

The School enjoys the active support of the PTA and all of our parents and carers, who have access to the latest information about their children’s progress through the Learning Gateway (login required).

Our excellent kitchen was given a five-star rating at its latest inspection. DinerMite serves up an inspiring selection of nourishing food every day. Click here for the current menu (pdf) and here for the DinerMite price list (pdf). For information on food allergies and intolerances, please see the display board in the dining hall, and see Mr Bush, Catering Manager, for any further information required.

The school was inspected and re-certified in summer 2014, and the Green Flag flutters proudly from the HHS flagpole once again, showing that we have met the ECO Schools criteria for an environmentally conscious community.

Hellesdon High is a lively school with active links with the local community and our feeder primary schools; activities and courses for adults are also based at the school.

We offer a huge range of sporting activities to all students, including training in leadership skills, opportunities to take part in local leagues and competitions with other schools, and to enjoy extracurricular clubs and activities. Our students campaigned to save School Sports Partnerships, which they felt had helped young people in our area to get into and benefit from sport.
